Join Us for a Fun Night of Fundraising

The group executive continues to fundraise to kit out the group with all of the equipment it needs to support sections enjoying lots of nights away across the year. Over the last year we've purchased 2 patrol tents and mess tents and now we look to purchase cooking equipment.

The ticket price includes entry to the event and a pie and pea supper. We hope you will support the group and join us for the evening.

Support the Event

To help us make the event a huge success, we're after support from the community around the group.
  1. We're looking for local businesses to make a donation of £20 for the naming rights to each of our 6 races. For example 'The Lambton Primary School Chase'. Please contact gsl@4thwashingtonscouts.org.uk if you are able to help.
  2. We're also after donations of raffle prizes, please drop these off with you section leader ahead of the event.

What Happens at a Race Night?

There are a number of ways to play and there will be 6 races across the night.
  1. Before each race we'll look for volunteers to become the rider or the owner of a horse in the race, if your horse wins then the rider wins a box of chocolate and the owner wins a bottle of wine.
  2. The other way to play is to a make a bet at the tote. Bets cost 50p and the tote pays out half of it's income back as winnings. You could win £2 to £4 a time. It's a complete lottery so it's open to any one to play.
We'll also have a raffle and tombola on the go across the night and we hope it's a great chance for families and supporters of the group to help us fundraise while getting to know others.

The bar remains open and our leaders and executive will be sticking around for a drink after, feel free to stay and socialise.
