4th Washington Scouts (part of Houghton-Le-Spring Scout District) provides adventure for young people aged 6 to 14 in Washington, Tyne and Wear. With an active beaver colony, a thriving cub pack and an adventurous scout troop the membership of the group is nearly 100 including our team of adult volunteers. The group is managed by an active executive committee who work behind the scenes to growth the adventure for members. Members of 4th Washington are easily recognisable by huge grins and their royal blue neckers.
Our vision is to have a positive impact on the young people of Washington by delivering a programme focused on outdoor and adventure with a new challenge every week.
The aim of the group is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
